Inari-Saariselkä tourism region is easily accessible, either by the extensive road network or by flying to the international airport in Ivalo. Regular public transport takes travellers as far north as the Arctic Ocean or southwards from where they can continue to the other parts of Europe.

The Ski Bus operates in the Saariselkä and Kiilopää area during the winter season from November 23, 2024, to April 21, 2025.

- The Ski Bus departs from Ivalo bus station at 9:00 AM to Saariselkä and returns from the Saariselkä ski lifts at 5:20 PM via Saariselkä center to Ivalo bus station (arrival at 5:55 PM).
- You can hop on without a prior reservation from any stop, including from Ivalo. Ivalo – Saariselkä – Ivalo: €10/one way/adult.

Connecting Transportation from Inari Village to Saariselkä Ski Bus - Spring 2025
In the spring of 2025, the ski bus will run from Inari to Saariselkä and back on eight Saturdays between March 1 and April 19, 2025, according to the following schedule:
- Departure at 8:20 AM from the K-market in Inari, via Ivalo bus station (at 9:00 AM) to Saariselkä.
- Return at 5:20 PM from the Saariselkä ski lifts, via Saariselkä center to Ivalo bus station (at 5:55 PM), and back to the K-Market in Inari (arrival in Inari around 6:30 PM).
This transportation is intended for anyone in need of a ride (including tourists and internal municipal travel). Inari - Saariselkä - Inari: €15/one way/adult.

Bus Connection Ivalo–Inari–Ivalo (from Monday to Friday)
Eskelisen Lapin Linjat will launch a new bus connection between Ivalo and Inari starting on August 11, 2025. The route will operate on weekdays and run from Törmänen (at the airport junction) through the Ivalo bus station and Inari K-market, ending at the Sámi Education Institute in Inari. The bus will stop at all official stops along the route.
In the mornings, the bus will depart from
- Törmänen at 7:40 AM
- Ivalo bus station at 7:50 AM
- Inari K-market at 8:25 AM
- Sámi Education Institute at 8:35 AM.
In the afternoon
- Sámi Education Institute at 3:55 PM
- Inari K-market at 4:00 PM
- Ivalo bus station at 4:40 PM
- Törmänen at 4:50 PM.
Tickets for this route will be available starting August 8, 2025, through Matkahuolto’s “Reitit ja Liput” mobile app. Single tickets can be purchased both through the app and directly from the bus. Students, pensioners, and conscripts are entitled to a 25% discount on the regular single ticket price. Children under four years of age can travel for free when accompanied by an adult.
In addition to single tickets, regional season and multi-ride tickets will be available through the app under the appropriate menu section. Prices are based on the distance traveled. Passengers can purchase multi-ride tickets for either 44 or 28 trips. The 44-trip ticket is 60% cheaper than the equivalent number of single tickets. All multi-ride tickets are personal and valid for 90 days from the start date chosen by the customer.
Students can also purchase subsidized school travel tickets through the Matkahuolto app, in accordance with the company’s guidelines. Detailed stop-by-stop timetables and pricing will be published on Matkahuolto’s website.
Municipal Pre-Booked Transport Service
The transport service operates as a demand-responsive minibus (call taxi) according to a schedule on the routes Nellim–Ivalo and Partakko–Nitsijärvi–Näätämö. Reservations for the call taxi must be made with the operator by 4:00 PM on the day before the trip. If the travel day falls on a public holiday, the trip will be moved to the previous weekday. The municipality reserves the right to make changes to the schedule or service agreement.
Nellim–Ivalo–Nellim
Departure on Tuesdays at 9:15 AM from Nellim harbor. Stop-specific schedule:
